The Passing of a Chief / by jean melesaine

I think when you are accustomed to loss, trauma, and violence you tend to make up excuses to lighten grief in order to move on constantly. Especially if things come almost every day. I’ve been to many funerals, family friends who’ve died of natural causes, accidents and/or violence but this one is a hard one to make sense of. The passing of Jungle was a left fielder, to this day I’m still in disbelief that someone, who knew him would have the slightest audacity to take his life. To grow up in the hood will always be a bittersweet relationship. You know everybody deserves a better life because things like this occur.
